Description

The Goodman 2 Ton Gas Split System is a complete residential straight-cool configuration that combines central air conditioning with an 80% AFUE natural gas furnace. The matched system includes a Goodman GLXS4BA2410 outdoor air conditioner, CHPTA3026B3 horizontal cased evaporator coil, and GR9S800603BN gas furnace.

This AHRI-certified combination provides approximately 24,000 BTU per hour of nominal cooling capacity and achieves 15.2 SEER2 and 12 EER2. The included furnace provides 60,000 BTU per hour of heating input and approximately 48,000 BTU per hour of heating output.

System capacity must be selected through a professional load calculation. Square-footage estimates alone cannot account for climate, insulation, windows, construction, occupancy, ceiling height, air leakage, and existing ductwork.

Goodman 2 Ton Gas Split System Overview

The GLXS4BA2410 is a single-stage outdoor air conditioner from Goodman’s R-32 GLXS4B series. It provides approximately two tons of nominal cooling capacity and works with the included indoor coil and furnace to circulate conditioned air through a residential duct system.

The CHPTA3026B3 is a horizontal cased evaporator coil with an internal thermal expansion valve. The GR9S800603BN is an 80% AFUE, single-stage gas furnace equipped with a multi-speed ECM blower motor.

This Goodman 2 Ton Gas Split System is a straight-cool system with gas heat. It is not a heat pump and does not provide compressor-based heating.

System Compatibility

The Goodman 2 Ton Gas Split System is configured for horizontal indoor airflow because the included CHPTA3026B3 coil is a horizontal-only model. Although the furnace supports upflow and horizontal orientations, the complete system must be installed horizontally when using this evaporator coil.

The installing contractor must verify furnace airflow, coil orientation, refrigerant line sizing, metering device, thermostat compatibility, electrical requirements, gas supply, combustion-air requirements, venting, condensate drainage, clearances, and applicable building codes.

Use the Xpress AC Supply sizing calculator for an initial estimate. Final equipment selection should be supported by a professional Manual J load calculation.

Refrigerant Information

This Goodman 2 Ton Gas Split System uses R-32 refrigerant. R-32 is classified as an A2L refrigerant and requires compatible service tools, components, handling procedures, labeling, and installation practices.

Refrigerant piping, evacuation, leak testing, charging, airflow adjustment, and system commissioning must be completed by a qualified HVAC professional following Goodman instructions and applicable safety codes.

Certified Efficiency

The GLXS4BA2410, CHPTA3026B3, and GR9S800603BN combination is listed at 15.2 SEER2 and 12 EER2 under AHRI Reference Number 215214724. These ratings apply only when the exact listed components are installed together and configured according to manufacturer requirements.

Replacing the coil, furnace, outdoor unit, or blower configuration may change the certified efficiency of the Goodman 2 Ton Gas Split System.

Warranty and Documentation

Warranty coverage depends on the individual component, installation, application, registration status, and location. Customers should review the applicable Goodman warranty certificates and complete product registration after installation when required for enhanced coverage.

Professional Installation Notice

The Goodman 2 Ton Gas Split System requires professional installation. A qualified HVAC contractor must complete the load calculation, inspect the duct system, connect the electrical and gas services, install the required venting, configure furnace airflow, evacuate and charge the refrigerant circuit, test combustion, and commission the complete system.

Improper equipment sizing, venting, refrigerant handling, gas connections, or airflow configuration can affect safety, efficiency, comfort, warranty eligibility, and equipment life.
